Trauma overwhelms a person physically, mentally and emotionally. It changes the brain and nervous system. Symptoms from trauma can range from irritability and anxiety, to nightmares, flashbacks, rage, painful memories, rigid thinking, limited emotional response, lack of intimacy, emotional numbness, acting-out behaviors and compulsive seeking of dangerous situations. There are many factors that determine the severity and duration of residual symptoms. No two people will experience a trauma the same way. I have been working with clients experiencing trauma and PTSD for 8 years using a combination of therapeutic modalities and psychoeducation to help them overcome their symptoms and regain a sense of normalcy in their life.
